At the end of April, we kick-started the EU&You project in Dublin, Ireland. The two-day meeting took place at the Blackrock Institute for Further Education. After a warm welcome to the historic building, our project team—consisting of the Blackrock Institute for Further Education, Poiomar, Absentia, and Artéteka—discussed the project objectives, expected results, and the next steps for the delivery of our Erasmus+ project, which was co-funded thanks to the support of the Irish National Agency, Leargas.

The team also shared good practices, ideas, and challenges regarding the adult education sector across the different countries (Ireland, Italy, and Portugal). We shared some good practices in international project management, particularly regarding Erasmus+ projects. Another point on the agenda was the discussion of the national workshops. It was very interesting hearing about the diverse plans of the partners; from pottery to museum visits, there is a wide range of activities for the participants to come!

While the first day was mostly focused on project quality, the next steps in the delivery (including the international exhibitions coming in 2025!), and risks that may occur during the process, the second day discussed monitoring activities and evaluation. We also organized team-building activities. For example, we played “Gaemy,” an Erasmus+ co-funded card game that helps us understand the importance of careful use of resources and their carbon emissions. In the afternoon, we went to the Teeling Whiskey distillery, where we learned how Irish whiskey is made, about the Teeling family history, and ended the day with a delicious whiskey tasting.

In conclusion, the kick-off meeting was a great success, and we can’t wait for what’s to come! If you want to become a part of this project or know someone who might be interested, please feel free to contact us or check out our social media channels.
